Women Empowerment Rehabilitation Trust, abbreviated as WERT, is a non-profit organization which seeks to empower women who are voluntarily or forcibly in the sex trade, to successfully transition into alternative and viable economically empowering activities.

WERT employs a holistic, positive and non-discriminative approach to enhance the lives of the women it seeks to rehabilitate through its activities and functions.

WERT endeavors to raise awareness and campaign against the recruitment of the girl child into commercial sex work

WERT aims to carry out diverse programmes targeting practices and activities that lead to the vulnerability of women


Our mission is to provide holistic rehabilitative services to women within the sex trade or commercial sex industry and nurture the resilience needed to transform and rebuild their lives.


To foster a conducive environment for the rehabilitation of women in the sex trade through social, economic and spiritual interventions.
